For over a decade, we’ve helped thousands of children develop essential water skills while building confidence, independence and a lifelong love of swimming.
Our Story
Swimwell was founded with a clear purpose: to provide swimming lessons that put children first.
What began as a small local swim school has grown into a trusted name across Staffordshire, offering structured programmes, specialist teaching, and a supportive learning environment for swimmers of all abilities.
Over the years, Swimwell has continued to grow in response to demand, expanding programmes, training new teachers, and investing in facilities that allow more families to access high-quality swimming lessons close to home.
Our newest chapter includes the development of a purpose-built Swimwell pool at Kingsmead Park, Stafford, allowing us to welcome even more families while maintaining the standards Swimwell is known for.
Julie’s Vision
Swimwell is led by Julie Hand, whose vision has shaped every aspect of the swim school.
Julie believes swimming lessons should be about more than learning strokes. They should build confidence, resilience and water safety skills that stay with children for life.
Her hands-on approach, combined with a strong focus on teacher training and continuous improvement, ensures that Swimwell remains at the forefront of swimming education.
